swedish ice / halfway there

0 reflections

it aint over yet. at least not in this swedish forest. still ice around - on the following two pics i think it looks as if the ice is growing out of the ground along with the mushy roots - click it to enlarge and see what i mean? it aint over yet but it will be soon. even though it was minus 9, the sun was incredibly powerful and i heard the cracking, saw the melting, felt the growing under my feet.

the lake - also halfway there.

more light, please

0 reflections

i'm thoroughly enjoying the coming of light, currently taking place on this part of the globe. i just want more of it. more light, please.

i've thrown my name in a magic hat to win a competition for a new camera, currently taking place in the bloggosphere. i just want to be able to take pictures with more accurate colours. taking pictures make me enjoy being alive, so wish me luck! more colours, please.

and, mentioning joi de vivre; have you seen Slumdog yet? currently showing in a cinema near you... if not, just hurry up and do it, it's instant magic. i know, 'cause i saw it again last night :-D more dancing, please.

ok, that was a lot to ask in one post. i'll go to bed and say a thousand pleases before i sleep.

a good place to sit and relax

3 reflections

this fellow is hanging out. apparently a rock in torrents is a good place to relax.
looking back over it's shoulder. to check who that annoying creature with the camera is? or to make sure someone is not sailing into it? perhaps just to keep an eye on winter and make sure it doesn't return.
looking forward to spring? how very heronesque.

the disturbance of grey

3 reflections

it can hardly get more grey than this, can it? the sky, the light, the branches, the streets, everything is grey. and the so-called snow doesn't help much, as it is too quickly washed away by rain and turned into fluid greyness around our feet.
i took a walk in the park and looked desperately for something not grey. it was easily found, like stars on the dark sky, there was little beacons of colour on some bushes. when i looked more closely, the colours were very intense, crazy hues of yellow and orange:

there's a disturbance of grey going on. as i'm writing this, grey fights back with all its might; there's fog, rain and slush at the same time. but these weird flowers are proof that very soon grey will have to succumb to colour again.
