to be alive one need sun, water, feed and some quiet time. just like a plant. sure, we need much more, but i want to keep this simple. so, a plant.
simple but specific. the plant is a pelargonium.
this is where this starts. with a pelargonium. i don't know how old it is, don't know its name, i don't even know where it comes from. it seems to have been here always. i think its name will sound kind of old. and it probably comes from my mother.
right now it is quite small but i remember when it was big, it had an "i'm beautiful, special and very cryptic so leave me alone" look. so i did. leave it alone. for years. and it grew bigger and bigger, its long twisted arms cascading and leaves a velvety, strong green. sometimes it would suddenly bloom with white and simple flowers. this was all a given to me - the growing, the flowers, the constancy. now i realise what a gift my pelargonium has been for all these years.
to show my gratitude i have given my pelargonium friends. i figure we have been alone long enough... i might have gone overboard as there are now almost 50 friends hanging out but don't we all need different friends for different moods?
so me, my pelargonium and fifty-something friends. the sun, water, feed and a little quiet time once in a while. i think we're going to have a ball. a real, old fashion great galla ball.
you're welcome.
